Burn
circus against forest loss

The performance
Fighting fires is a natural reaction to a problem that directly concerns us, but the creative spirit that has always driven us compels us to find proactive and imaginative ways to address this issue.
"Burn" is a performance born from this need, to confront the theme of deforestation and wildfires by placing trees and nature at the very center of the stage, not only as protagonists of a story but also as the stage itself and its living scenery. Thanks to the collaboration with Giacomo Ventura and his company Selva – Arboriculture and Tree Climbing, and under the artistic direction of aerial acrobat Lorena Di Bello, we have created an ambitious aerial circus show that takes place around a centuries-old ash tree, accompanied by live music from Settevoci’s resident band, the Settevoci Social Club (featuring Andrea Sturiale, Guido Manfrini, and Giovanni Simon). The story is not simply about fire, but rather a true celebration of the tree as a primary source of life and movement, as well as a denunciation of the indifference that allows this cradle of life to be lost and replaced by a desert that is not only material, but also emotional and spiritual. The other circus artists performing in the show are Martina Calvo (Chile), Cecilia Manfrini (Italy), and Morgane Maret (Switzerland). The performance also benefits from the technical collaboration of the production company Ponte di Archimede and Alessandro Tripi. Thanks to funding from the European program Perform Europe, supported by the European Union, this show has toured across Europe, with performances in Sweden, Poland, France, and Spain throughout 2025.
